
Shalita Grant was best known for her role as NCIS Special Agent Sonja Percy on the long-running CBS procedural drama spinoff NCIS: New Orleans until she was cast as Sherry Conrad in Season 3 of the popular Netflix series You. Unfortunately, the character left NCIS in 2018 to work as an FBI Special Agent.
The actress made the decision to quit the well-liked CBS drama of her own free will, unlike some actresses who have left the series because their character was murdered and/or written off because writers felt that the characters’ stories had come to an end.

What led Shalita to leave NCIS, then?
In an interview with the host of the Tameron Hall programme in October 2021, Shalita said that her choice to leave the series was influenced by the “physical damage” her hair had sustained.
“It was about a year and a half in the making,” she told the host. “I had started documenting some of the physical damage that was going on — it’s harder to document the emotional damage.”
The actress stated that she thinks her hair was harmed by the wigs she was compelled to wear for the programme. Shalita thus started writing about her hair loss in 2017.
